About
Ewell Library is part of Surrey Libraries, and you can find us in historic Bourne Hall, Ewell.
Set in the heart of historic Ewell Village in Surrey and only 30 minutes outside London, Bourne Hall looks down on the headsprings of the river Hogsmill. Bourne Hall grounds feature landscaped gardens and lake with plenty of waterfowl provide a warm and calm setting. A waterwheel exists in the grounds dated from the
1800’s which originally pumped water to greenhouses. The wheel is now framed in a Flint arch with a mask on the keystone. There are signs informing visitors that it forms part of a pedestrian route, called London Loop Sections 7 and 8, connecting Ewell to the site of Nonsuch Palace.
There is a sensory playground open to the public, and an outdoor patio with seating.
This remarkable modern building with unique architectural interest has been open since 1970.
As well as the library, Bourne Hall also houses Epsom Museum & The Flying Saucer Café.
