✨🕺🏻At Little Movers we aim to enhance your child’s imagination as well as developing their motor skills, balance and coordination all while dancing along to their favourite songs 🕺🏻✨

Music and movement can help children learn about shapes, colours, numbers and patterns. It can help children learn to communicate in other ways, before they are fully able to put their thoughts into words and can help children build confidence and self-belief. Dance can also help children learn to interact with other children and make new friendships.

One week we may be fairies in a magical land and the other we might be exploring the jungle, all through movement of the body.

Although this may not be an instructed dance class, we are preparing children to move to write. It is very important for children aged 1-4 to be able to practice pre writing shapes to be able to write when at school, we do this through music and movement.

Throughout the sessions we will move from strength to strength, and move through different styles of moving.

About

My name is Jasmine and I’m 23. Since a little girl all I wanted to do was dance. I spent my younger years in dance classes and exams ( and wanting to become a ballerina of course 🩰!) I attended Stagedright for 10 years at the age of 8 and enjoyed taking part in some of the biggest musicals in Cumbria. Alongside my love of musical theatre, is my love of caring for younger children. I have worked in various different childcare settings since I was 18 and hold a level 3 childcare qualification, First Aid aswell as a clear DBS. I have previously worked in a primary school part time as a 1-1 Teaching Assistant which was the most rewarding! I had since stopped dancing due to life and work commitments, however my dream was to combine my love of dance and working with younger children.
September 2024, I had been given the opportunity to team up with Northern Heights dance company in Carlisle to start a toddler group on a Monday morning in one of their lovely dance studios. If your child loves to dance at any given opportunity and have a good sing song (just like I did) this is for them!
The fun includes walk through story times (🐻 hunt!) , lots of nursery rhyme classics and dancing to Disney favourites. All while your child is growing in their motor skills, communication and enhancing their imagination. A well deserved tea or coffee is available for the Mums and Dads, not forgetting a biscuit and juice for the little ones. We have a large waiting area where the little ones can play with a variety of toys while the grown ups have a catch up!
