What Little Movers Carlisle says

✨Little Movers is a lively, dance-based toddler group held at Northern Heights Dance Studios in Carlisle, designed especially for young children aged 1-4.

✨Our sessions are all about fun, with no strict routines—just energetic games, party dances, themed activities, and plenty of opportunities for little ones to express themselves through music, and let their imagination run wild.

✨We believe dance is beneficial for toddlers’ development because it encourages creativity, self-expression, and body awareness without the pressure of rules or structure. When toddlers move freely to music, they develop motor skills, coordination, and balance while also exploring emotions and building confidence. This type of spontaneous movement supports cognitive growth and social interaction, laying a strong foundation for overall physical and emotional development.

✨Each week brings a new adventure, complete with exciting props to explore and one big dance party that everyone can enjoy. We also offer refreshments and snacks for both parents and children, making it a welcoming and social experience for all.

About

My name is Jasmine and I’m 23. Since a little girl all I wanted to do was dance. I spent my younger years in dance classes and exams ( and wanting to become a ballerina of course 🩰!) I attended Stagedright for 10 years at the age of 8 and enjoyed taking part in some of the biggest musicals in Cumbria. Alongside my love of musical theatre, is my love of caring for younger children. I have worked in various different childcare settings since I was 18 and hold a level 3 childcare qualification, First Aid aswell as a clear DBS. I have previously worked in a primary school part time as a 1-1 Teaching Assistant which was the most rewarding! I had since stopped dancing due to life and work commitments, however my dream was to combine my love of dance and working with younger children.
September 2024, I had been given the opportunity to team up with Northern Heights dance company in Carlisle to start a toddler group on a Monday morning in one of their lovely dance studios. If your child loves to dance at any given opportunity and have a good sing song (just like I did) this is for them!
