What Pembroke House says
Pembroke House is a vibrant centre for social action in Walworth, Southwark, south east London. Established in 1885 by students from Pembroke College, Cambridge, Pembroke House was one of the first Settlement Houses, whose founders sought new solutions to inner-city poverty and deprivation by living, working and solving problems alongside the communities they served.
Today we continue to build stronger communities, tackle poverty, improve health and reduce loneliness and isolation. We work at a neighbourhood level, offering a variety of community building programmes for all ages and backgrounds, often working together with our community, faith, arts, statutory and private sector partners.
