Charlie Hodgson offers warm, welcoming 1:1 guitar lessons for children aged 4 and up — available both in-person at his calm, child-friendly home studio in Kings Langley or online via Zoom.

With over 20 years’ experience teaching and 30+ years as a session-level guitarist, Charlie has a kind, patient and intuitive approach that helps children thrive — whether they’re total beginners or already strumming. He’s fully DBS checked, comes highly recommended by local families, and is Kings Langley’s most 5-star reviewed tutor.

Lessons are tailored to each child’s pace and interests, with a strong focus on encouragement, enjoyment and building lifelong musical skills. From learning favourite songs to developing rhythm and finger strength, Charlie meets each young learner exactly where they are.

Parents are always welcome to chat with Charlie before booking — he’s happy to offer advice on what kind of guitar to buy and how to support learning at home.

Please note: children will need their own guitar, but Charlie can offer plenty of tips and recommendations based on age and hand size.

Spots are limited, so booking in advance is advised. Charlie offers a few term-time weekday after-school slots. All bookings are subject to his full Terms & Conditions, available on his website.

🛎️ Before You Arrive

• Please ring the Ring video doorbell on arrival — Charlie will come to the door to greet you.
• Parents are welcome to wait nearby or sit in during the first few lessons if it helps your child feel comfortable.
• Lessons are held in Charlie’s calm, child-friendly home studio in Kings Langley, with a welcoming, focused atmosphere.
• Your child will need to bring their own guitar — but if you’re not sure what to get yet, Charlie can give great advice and recommendations based on your child’s age and hand size.
• We recommend arriving just a minute or two before the lesson begins to allow for a smooth handover.
• There’s usually easy street parking available just outside.
