Outdoor Play & Connection for Children and Their Grown-Ups

Join us at Kirkstall Valley Farm for a relaxed, nature-based playgroup where children from crawlers to age 5 and their parents or carers explore, imagine, and play together in the great outdoors.

Set on a working community farm in the heart of Kirkstall Valley, our sessions are filled with rich, child-led play and hands-on experiences inspired by nature. Each week offers a mix of open-ended play setups and seasonal nature activities—mud kitchens, potion stations, painting, water play, natural loose parts, and mark making opportunities—designed to spark curiosity and creativity.

Children are free to roam, climb, dig, build, and discover at their own pace with no set timings. We follow the lead of the children, allowing plenty of time for imaginative play, stories by the firepit, and seasonal crafts using natural and recycled materials.

Parents and carers stay throughout the session, creating a welcoming community where grown-ups can connect, share, and enjoy time in nature alongside their children. It’s a space to slow down, be present, and make memories - or just enjoy the company and a coffee!

Planned by experienced facilitators, sessions run in virtually all weathers, embracing the beauty and benefits of outdoor play year-round.

All activities are included in the ticket price. Hot drinks are available (donations much appreciated!). Please bring your own snacks. Age Range: Crawling to 5 (younger siblings welcome)
