Description
After dancing, singing and discovering their coordination, curiosity towards the piano, the ukulele or another instrument is really big! But it’s easier said than done. Yes, you got it right. Even if your child asks you to play an instrument, it doesn’t mean they are ready for one-to-one lessons.
That’s why at Music Tree, we’ve created a special course just for this stage! It’s called Sing and play and that’s exactly what it is about!
Music Tree’s teachers will guide your child to discover various musical instruments before choosing which one to study while we help them develop their musicality and physical coordination (essential for playing an instrument).
This happens best by working in small groups (max 8 children) because at that age children still need to be with their friends and have fun while they learn. They will have time, in their life, to study an instrument with the necessary care and attention. But before this, we want to be sure to help cultivate their passion and give them the necessary skills so that this study can remain fun even when it will require more effort.
Sing and play year 1 is designed for children aged 5–6, offering a fun and engaging introduction to music through creative games, group play, and improvisation. The course focuses on foundational music skills while giving children the chance to explore a wide variety of instruments.
Throughout the year, students rotate between piano, ukulele, percussion, xylophones, bells, and other melodic instruments. Piano and ukulele are the main focus, with dedicated sessions that allow for deep exploration. Each child gets plenty of hands-on time, playing solo, in pairs, and as part of small ensembles. This rotating instrument approach helps children discover what they gravitate towards and want to learn about in depth in the future.
