Welcome to Education through Music a unique music programme designed to nurture your child’s musicality from the inside out. Rooted in the Kodály and Dalcroze approaches (q.v.), our classes combine singing, movement, rhythm, listening games, and imaginative play to build deep musical understanding in a joyful and age-appropriate way.

Classes are grouped by age (2–4s, 4–6s, and 7–9s) and tailored to meet children at their developmental stage. We focus on ear training, coordination, creativity, and musical confidence – all through playful, carefully structured activities.

Whether your child is already learning an instrument or just beginning their musical journey, these classes provide an ideal foundation. Children gain a strong sense of pulse, pitch, inner hearing, and expressive movement – skills that support all areas of music learning and go far beyond it.

Led by an experienced teacher with a background in classical music, philosophy, and education, classes are small, friendly, and inclusive, with personal attention given to each child. We welcome curious minds, lively bodies, and all levels of experience.

🅿️ Free parking available at the Emsworth Community Centre car park. However, owing to building works, parking is currently limited. Please note: the centre is close to the town centre but away from the main road, making drop-off and pick-up easy.

📅 Classes run during school term time on Saturday mornings.

👕 Children should wear comfortable clothes and remove shoes or wear dance shoes for movement.
Times of classes:
- ages 2-4, 9:40 - 10:10 am
- ages 4-6, 10:15 - 10:50 am
- ages 7-9, 10:55 - 11:45 am
🎵 Trial classes are free and carry no obligation – just let us know you're coming! Prices are as follows:
Note: generous discounts are available for siblings.
⁣2-4-year-old class: £5.90 per lesson.
4-6-year-old class: £6.50 per lesson
⁣7-9-year-old class: £7.90 per lesson
After the trial period, fees are normally payable termly in advance.
