Class Overview

Age Group: 1–2 years old

Duration: 45 minutes

Day & Time: Thursdays 9:45 - 10:30am

Focus Areas:

• Developing gross motor skills (balance, coordination, and strength)

• Sensory engagement (tactile, visual, and auditory stimulation)

• Encouraging social interaction and confidence-building

• Introducing rhythm and movement with music and props

1. Welcome & Warm-Up (5–10 minutes)

• Circle Time with a welcome song & toddler bop.

• Light Movement: Stretching, clapping, and gentle bouncing activities to warm up little bodies.

2. Sensory Activities (5–10 minutes)

Our sensory station has;

• Sensory play mats with different textures, colours and sounds.

• Coloured ribbons for visual stimulation.

• Bubble machines and light-up toys for a magical atmosphere.

During classes we will be introducing musical instruments like shakers, maracas, and tambourines to explore sound and rhythm.

3. Cheerleading Fun (5 minutes)

• Basic lifts for guardians and toddlers to enjoy learning together.

4. Gymnastics Basics circuit (5 minutes)

• Assisted rolls on mats.

• Jumping or bouncing along our inflatable air track.

• Learning to balance walking along our stepping stones and toddler-friendly floor level beam (with caregiver support).

Focusing on coordination and introducing basic body awareness.

5. Soft Play Exploration (10 minutes)

Our soft play area includes;

• Foam mats, tunnels, and climbing blocks for safe crawling and climbing.

• Soft wedges for balance, spatial awareness and sliding down.

Toddlers explore freely under guidance, promoting independent play and gross motor development.

6. Cool Down & Goodbye (5 minutes)

Key Features

• Parental Involvement: Caregivers actively participate to support their toddlers.

• Safety First: All equipment is age-appropriate, soft, and supervised by trained staff.

• Play-Based Learning: Activities are structured but flexible to accommodate toddlers attention spans.

Come in the main entrance to the Greenway Centre, turn right past reception and down through the café. Go through the blue doors and down the steps. Our gym doors are then directly in front of you. Please wait in the café until 5 mins before the class, where athletes and parents may then wait in the corridor until a coach lets in for class start. All of our classes are drop off and leave. Parents may wait in the café for the duration of the session, or pop out and come back :)
