Description
This postnatal group is a 10-week unique counsellor-led course designed for mums, birthing parents, and their babies — whether you are becoming a parent for the first time or are navigating the transition of welcoming a second, third, or subsequent child.
Becoming a parent brings huge changes, both joyful and challenging. These shifts can feel overwhelming, but they are a normal part of the motherhood journey. This group offers you a safe, supportive, and confidential space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences alongside others who truly understand.
The group runs for 10 weeks, with weekly 1.5-hour sessions in Peacehaven. Each week focuses on a different theme through a mix of information, activities, discussion, and shared experience.
Topics include:
- Mental & emotional health
- Changes in identity and self-image
- Mum guilt and self-compassion
- Healthy relationships and partner dynamics
- Sibling relationships and family growth
- Bonding & attachment with your baby
- Building and strengthening support networks
Whether you are adjusting to life as a first-time parent, or balancing the needs of a growing family, the group aims to help you grow in confidence and resilience, while building connection and community with others on a similar path.
Since launching in Brighton in 2015 (originally as Mummyshock), our postnatal groups have supported over 900 mums and babies, offering encouragement, understanding, and the reminder that you are not alone.
There are spaces for 12 women and their infants per group and is facilitated by qualified counsellors and group facilitators.
